Preview: Copenhagen vs. Nordsjaelland - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Danish Superliga clash between Copenhagen and Nordsjaelland, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

This weekend will see FC Copenhagen clash with Nordsjaelland in the final Superliga matchday at Parken on Sunday.

Copenhagen could claim a record 16th Danish title with a victory on Sunday, while the visiting team, who are fifth in the table, will be aiming for continental football next season.

Copenhagen came into the playoff trailing Midtjylland by four points, but they have managed to turn the tide in their favour.

Last time out, the hosts trounced Randers 4-0 to help their quest for yet another league crown, and their second in three seasons.

Heading into the last round of matches, the hosts lead their closest title rivals Midtjylland by one point.

The home side have been in superb form, claiming victories in four of their last five league matches, scoring 13 goals and conceding only three in that time.

A win for the Lions will ensure they claim their 16th league title, making them the most successful team in the history of the competition.

Meanwhile, Nordsjaelland are not in the race for the title, but they still have a lot to play for on Sunday.

Their recent three-game winless run did hamper their quest for European football next term, but they did themselves a huge favour with a 2-0 win against Aarhus in their last league contest.

The Tigers currently sit fifth with 46 points, only two behind Brondby and Randers in the race for continental football next season.

While their destiny is not in their hands, Jens Fonsskov Olsen's men still have an outside chance of making it to Europe, with a win and a little help from Aarhus and Midtjylland, who are up against Brondby and Randers respectively.

That said, the visiting side faces a daunting task against a Copenhagen side unbeaten in their last two head-to-head contests.

Team News

Both sides have to make do with the playing staff available, as several players will miss out on Sunday's clash.

For the hosts, Oliver Hojer is recovering from surgery and will definitely not be in the plans of the manager.

Nicolai Boilesen has been recovering from a knee injury, which has kept him on the sidelines for some time.

Kevin Diks and Roony Bardghji are both going to sit out this fixture, as they are being treated for injuries.

The visitors will be without Prince Amoako and Erik Marxen on Sunday, while Peter Ankersen is suspended for the fixture.

Copenhagen possible starting lineup:
Ramaj; Perreira, Huescas, Hatzidiakos, Lopez; Larsson, Froholdt, Lerager, Achouri; Cornelius, Elyounoussi

Nordsjaelland possible starting lineup:
Hansen; Salquist, Ankersen, Hogsberg, Markmann; Nygren, Brink, Yirenkyi; Dorgeles, Nene, Egeli
