Hansi Flick had a successful first season at Barcelona and, while he agonisingly missed out on taking the Spanish team to the Champions League final, he did bring them a double at home, with La Liga and Copa del Rey wins, while the club were also successful in the Spanish Super Cup.
Despite overseeing a treble-winning season, Flick will be keen to strengthen his squad during the transfer window, knowing that he will face a tougher challenge from a new-look Real Madrid side under new boss Xabi Alonso.
The Catalan giants have already signed a new first-choice goalkeeper, spending £21m to recruit Joan Garcia from local rivals Espanyol, which could potentially lead to Marc-Andre ter Stegen's departure.
Ter Stegen has allegedly been informed that he will not be the number one at Barcelona moving forward, but he may miss the first half of the 2025-26 campaign if he decides to proceed with a back operation.
Barcelona's summer transfer business is far from complete, with the Catalan outfit determined to boost their attack; Nico Williams had been a leading target, but he has since signed a new deal with Athletic Bilbao.
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford is an option, although Flick's team are only believed to be interested in a loan deal, with the club not prepared to pay the English club's £40m valuation.
Meanwhile, Barcelona will be keen to swiftly offload a number of players that have been surplus to requirements by Flick, especially as potential exits could create the funds and registration space for new arrivals.
However, as it stands, only one player has left for a transfer fee this summer, with Alex Valle moving to Como in a £5m deal.
Ansu Fati's switch to Monaco is an initial loan deal, while Clement Lenglet has left the club on a free transfer.
Flick is believed to be looking to trim his midfield this summer, with Marc Casado potentially departing; the Spaniard has serious admirers in the Premier League, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Fermin Lopez has also been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer.

Summer 2025 transfer window key dates
The 2025 summer transfer window officially opened on June 1 after FIFA granted special dispensation to allow clubs competing at the Club World Cup to sign players ahead of the new-look tournament. That exceptional registration period then closed on June 10, before the window reopens again on June 16. The transfer window will then close on September 1, and remain closed until January.
