Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish is reportedly open to joining Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

The 29-year-old - a £100m signing from Aston Villa in 2021 - has failed to make the desired impact for the Citizens since playing an integral role in the club's historic 2022-23 treble-winning campaign.

Grealish went through 2024 without netting a single goal in 32 appearances before ending his miserable drought by converting a penalty in Man City's 8-0 demolition of Salford City in the FA Cup in January.

Man City's No.10 has featured 26 times across all competitions so far this season, but he has only started 14 games, with his last start in the Premier League dating back to December 12 against former club Aston Villa.

Grealish has indeed fallen down the pecking order under manager Pep Guardiola and has subsequently been left out of Thomas Tuchel's first England squad ahead of 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia this month.

The 39-cap Three Lions international still has over two years remaining on his contract at Man City, but a potential summer exit from the Etihad Stadium has been mooted.

According to Chronicle Live, Grealish has been offered to Newcastle and the attacker is said to be keen on a move to St James' Park this summer.

Sources close to the player claim Grealish and his camp believe that Eddie Howe's management style will help him rediscover his best form in 2025-26, a crucial season for the attacker which finishes with the 2026 World Cup held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Newcastle have been quiet in the last two transfer windows as they have prioritised balancing their books in a bid to avoid breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Many may question whether they would be able to fork out a substantial fee on a player such as Grealish, but it is understood that the Man City man would be available for 'a fraction' of the £100m that the Citizens spent almost four years ago.

Howe is expected to target a new winger in the summer transfer window after allowing Miguel Almiron to complete a permanent return to Atlanta United in January.

Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes are Howe's current first-team wingers at Newcastle, while Joelinton has also operated out wide on a few occasions.

What does the future hold for Grealish?

During his time at boyhood club Aston Villa, Grealish briefly played alongside John Terry in the 2017-18 Championship season before the latter became an assistant coach under Dean Smith the following season.

Terry has encouraged Grealish to make a decision on his Man City future and weigh up all his options having now entered the prime years of his career.

Speaking on TalkSPORT's breakfast show, Terry said: 'I think it will be good for him to weigh up his options. I'm not saying leave Man City, because they're one of the top teams in the world.

"But I think he needs to ask questions, 'Am I going to be part of this in the future?,' but Jack is an unbelievable talent, and I think he's at his best when he's got the freedom, and I think he needs a manager to give him the license to go and be Jack Grealish."

Meanwhile, Man City expert Steven McInerney from Esteemed Kompany has told Sports Mole that he would not be too surprised to see Grealish move on in the summer.
