Barcelona are allegedly facing competition from six Premier League clubs for Lille striker Jonathan David, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Barcelona are reportedly facing competition from six Premier League clubs for Jonathan David, with the Lille forward set to have the pick of a number of high-profile teams at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 25-year-old has again been in excellent form for Lille this season, scoring 23 goals and registering 10 assists in 41 appearances, including nine goals and four assists in 14 Champions League outings.

David's contract is due to expire at the end of June, though, and he is set to leave his French side on a free transfer.

Barcelona continue to be heavily linked with the Canada international, and according to Fichajes, the Catalan giants are strong contenders when it comes to securing a deal for his services.

However, the report claims that all of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and West Ham United have made contact with his representatives to register their interest.

Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool 'battling Barcelona for David'

David has long been linked with a switch to the Premier League, and Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham are all preparing to sign a new striker at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Canadian made the move to Lille from Gent in the summer of 2020, and he has represented his current side on 224 occasions, scoring 107 goals and registering 27 assists in the process.

David has proved that he can compete at the highest level by impressively scoring 10 times in 18 Champions League fixtures, while he has a record of 32 goals in 61 caps for his country.

David vows to make "wise decision" on his future

The forward recently said that he will make a "wise decision" on his next move and insisted that he is prepared to battle to be the number one striker at his next club.

"Obviously, with this summer going on, I am not sure if I am staying or going. But if I do end up going, I have to push myself at the very highest level," he told Golazo America.

"When you play for a big club, your position [in the team] is never guaranteed and you need to fight. I am never guaranteed anywhere I go to start every game and play every game, I have to perform. I am willing to fight. I know it's an important year. It is a big decision. I will make a wise decision."

There is an obvious route for him into the starting teams at Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea, but Robert Lewandowski is staying for another season at Barcelona, so it is difficult to imagine David being a starter for the Catalan side next term.

Lewandowski has been in excellent form for Hansi Flick's side during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 36 times in 41 appearances, and his contract at Camp Nou is due to run until the summer of 2026.
