These two giants of Italian football have met on 243 occasions, and it is Inter Milan that lead their head-to-head record, having won 91 times to AC Milan's 81, while there have been 71 draws.
In Serie A, the pair have locked horns 182 times, with Inter posting 70 wins to Milan's 55, while there have been 57 draws between the two teams in the top flight of Italian football.
Andriy Shevchenko is the all-time leading goalscorer in this fixture, having scored 14 times against Inter during his time with Milan, with eight of those goals coming in Serie A.
This is a fixture that had recently been dominated by Inter - with the Nerazzurri winning six straight meetings between January 2023 and April 2024 - but Milan have bitten back with two victories in 2024-25.
The Rossoneri came out on top with a last-minute winner in September's league fixture, before triumphing in the Supercoppa Italiana final, where they fought back from two goals down to win a five-goal thriller.
A subsequent Serie A clash finished in a dramatic 1-1 draw, with that result then repeated in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
