Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly considering a potential move for experienced Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Casemiro this summer.

Casemiro impressed during his first season as a Man United player after joining the club from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.

However, he has since seen some of his performances come under scrutiny, leading to questions about whether he can still compete at the elite level.

Casemiro has fallen down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim, demonstrated by the fact that he has featured in just five of Man United's last 14 Premier League matches.

The Brazilian's performance levels and contract situation have led to speculation about a possible move away from Old Trafford.

AC Milan eyeing Casemiro move

Casemiro, who is out of contract in 2026, was linked with a departure in the January transfer window but a move ultimately failed to materialise.

A recent report claimed that Casemiro is 'highly likely' to see out his £350,000 a week contract because Man United have received no bids for his services.

However, according to Fichajes, Milan are considering making a move for the former Real Madrid ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The Italian giants are keen to recruit an experienced midfielder who can fit into Sergio Conceicao's system at San Siro.

Man United open to Casemiro sale

The report indicates that Man United are open to parting ways with Casemiro if they receive a suitable offer in the summer market.

United will need to bring in a replacement if Casemiro departs, especially as they are set to bid farewell to Christian Eriksen when his contract expires at the end of the season.

If those two players were to leave, Man United would be left with Manuel Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer as their main midfield options, highlighting the need to bring in reinforcements.

From Milan's perspective, they are expected to study the feasibility of a potential move for Casemiro before they decide whether to step up their interest in the summer.

There is a belief that the player's wages could prove to be a stumbling block in a switch to the Serie A side.
