Manchester United wantaway Casemiro is reportedly in line for a switch to Brazilian giants Flamengo on loan before the end of February.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let Casemiro leave on loan to Flamengo before the end of the month.

The 32-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Theatre of Dreams since the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim in November, as shown by the player's lack of game time.

Casemiro featured just for a single minute on Friday night, when a last-gasp Harry Maguire strike was needed to beat Leicester City in the FA Cup.

The Brazilian has not started a competitive match for the Red Devils since December 30, when Amorim's troops suffered a sobering 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United.

Following his £70m switch from European champions Real Madrid during the summer of 2022, Casemiro has racked up 107 appearances, scoring 15 goals.

Man United wantaway Casemiro to secure Brazilian loan?

According to journalist Jorge Nicola via talkSPORT, a new player has entered the race for the services of Man United midfielder Casemiro before the end of the campaign.

The report claims that Brazilian giants Flamengo are interested in bringing the talents of the veteran to their squad in the very near future.

Flamengo are currently managed by former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis, who is keen on bringing Casemiro into the ranks.

It is understood that Man United are willing to sanction a loan switch for the midfielder out of Old Trafford for the remainder of the term.

The Red Devils are supposedly set to pay a large chunk of Casemiro's wages while he features elsewhere for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign.

Midfield options and club choices

Turning 33 at the end of the month, it is clear that five-time Champions League winner Casemiro has no future in the first team at Man United.

Amorim has preferred a more youthful mix in his engine room since arriving from Sporting Lisbon, with Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte the first-choice pairing.

There has been no lack of interest from across the globe in Casemiro, who has reportedly been courted by Al-Nassr, Besiktas and Roma in recent times.
