Liverpool are reportedly monitoring the situation of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who could become an option for the Reds in case Luis Diaz leaves the club.
Diaz has a contract at Anfield until 2027, but there is a high chance that he could leave the club to join Bayern Munich this summer.
Liverpool have already rejected a £59m bid from Bayern, but the German champions are reportedly planning to make a fresh bid to sign the Colombian. They are optimistic that the Reds would be willing to negotiate.
The Premier League champions have already bolstered their attacking areas by signing Florian Wirtz on a club-record deal, while Hugo Ekitike is also reportedly close to completing his move on a big-money deal from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Arne Slot would still need more players in the forward areas, especially if Diaz, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott depart.
Rodrygo would be a 'very expensive' signing for Liverpool

According to Florian Plettenberg, Rodrygo remains one of the candidates to replace Diaz at Anfield, and the Reds have been informed about his current status.
Madrid would be open to selling him, and the 24-year-old winger is aware of it. The Brazilian would be a 'very expensive' option for the Reds, considering the all-round package he would demand, as he currently earns £8.7m/year (€10m net).
Signing Rodrygo and letting Diaz leave could be an ideal scenario for the Reds, as the Madrid winger is definitely an upgrade.
Rodrygo would be a stellar signing for Liverpool
The Brazil international joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2019 from Santos and has scored 68 goals in all competitions.
Known for his flair, dribbling skills, and exceptional technical ability, Rodrygo can play across all positions upfront, and his playing style is similar to that of his club and national teammate, Vinicius Junior.
An attacking quartet of Wirtz, Ekitike, Rodrygo and Mohamed Salah should cause mayhem in theory. Rodrygo would be a stellar signing for the Reds, but it would require significant effort from Liverpool for the deal to materialise.
