Falkirk will be bidding to make it three straight wins in the 2025-26 Scottish League Cup when they continue their League A campaign with a clash against Queen's Park on Tuesday night.
The hosts are second in the table, picking up five points from two matches, while Queen's Park are fourth, claiming three points from their two games in this season's competition.
Match preview
Falkirk started their League Cup campaign with a thumping 7-0 win over Brechin on July 17; they were then held to a 0-0 draw by Cove Rangers, but a penalty-shootout win allowed them to gain an extra point.
The Scottish Premiership outfit are therefore on five points from two matches in the 2025-26 competition, which has left them in second spot in the table, one point behind the Spartans at the summit.
Falkirk will now be looking to overcome a Queen's Park outfit that they faced on two occasions in the Scottish Championship last term, with a goalless draw being played out in January of this year, before Falkirk recorded a thumping 4-0 win in their last match in the middle of March.
John McGlynn's side are preparing for life back in the Scottish Premiership following their Scottish Championship success last term.
Falkirk's current focus is on the League Cup, though, and they will take on division leaders the Spartans on July 26 ahead of their first league game of the new season at home to Dundee United on August 3.
Queen's Park, meanwhile, finished eighth in the Scottish Championship last term, only narrowly avoiding relegation, so they will again feature in the second tier of Scottish football in 2025-26.
The Spiders have never won the Scottish League Cup, but they have lifted the Scottish Cup on 10 previous occasions, with their last success in that competition coming in 1893.
Falkirk are two-time winners of the Scottish Cup, while they reached the final of the Scottish League Cup back in 1948.
Queen's Park are currently fourth in Group A, picking up three points from two matches, having suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Spartans before recording a 5-0 victory over Brechin.
There is pressure on both teams to pick up a positive result on Tuesday night, and the fact that Queen's Park were comprehensive winners in their last game in the competition should mean that confidence is high.
