Arsenal have allegedly identified one of Newcastle United's star players as a potential summer transfer target.
The Gunners are currently preparing to take on Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.
However, as a result of sitting 13 points adrift of leaders Liverpool in the Premier League table, Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta are eyeing fresh faces for 2025-26.
Many Arsenal supporters would be in favour of acquiring the services of a traditional number to compete with Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino, who has stepped into the breach left by injuries to Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
Nevertheless, as per Football Insider, club officials are showing an interest in signing yet another versatile attacker.

Arsenal to push for Gordon deal?
Former scout Mick Brown, a regular contributor to the outlet, has claimed that Arsenal have been assessing the capabilities of Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
Brown said: "I hear Arsenal have been having a look at Anthony Gordon. I think his agent has been putting his name about, that usually plays a big part in driving a deal.
"Newcastle is a great club to be at, especially now they've won that trophy and they're going to be looking to push on from here. So I'm not entirely convinced it will be a simple decision for Gordon to make.
"Arsenal might be prepared to offer him more money, and of course they're aiming to win the Premier League and they believe he can help them do that. So from that position, it's a move that would make sense because he would certainly improve them."

What will Newcastle's stance be?
Barring Gordon handing in a transfer request, Newcastle will likely reject any offers for Gordon out of hand, particularly when he has recently penned a new contract.
With the England international on a long-term deal, Arsenal would have to shell out considerably more than the £45m that Newcastle paid Everton in 2023.
Gordon has since contributed 22 goals and 23 assists from 99 appearances in a Newcastle shirt, including 17 goals and 21 assists from 62 top-flight outings from the start of last season.
If Newcastle earn a place in the Champions League for the next campaign, each of their star men - including another Arsenal target in Alexander Isak - are far more likely to stay put in the North-East.
Although Arsenal are effectively guaranteed a place at European football's top table for next season, they are unlikely to meet Newcastle's demands for Gordon.
