Real Madrid-linked attacker Nico Paz drops a hint that he is open to the prospect of a future move to Catalan giants Barcelona.

Real Madrid-linked attacker Nico Paz has hinted that he would be open to a future move to Barcelona after he admitted he would love to play alongside Lamine Yamal.

The 20-year-old is currently plying his trade with Como after joining the Italian side from Real Madrid last summer.

Paz has largely impressed with performances for Cesc Fabregas' side, contributing six goals and seven assists in 30 Serie A appearances this season.

The Argentina international is already being linked with a move away from Como despite being under contract until the summer of 2028.

Real Madrid are one of those who could sign their academy product after they included a buyback option in their agreement with Como.

However, according to Fichajes, Real Madrid's arch-rivals Barcelona could make an effort to sign the Argentine in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Barcelona have made informal contacts to gather information about a potential move after being encouraged by Paz's recent comments about Yamal.

He has revealed that the Barcelona star is the player that he would most like to play with, fuelling speculation over a possible move to the Catalan giants.

"I've been lucky enough to play for Real Madrid, the best team in the world, to play with Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham to name a few," Paz told Como TV.

"I'm sticking with Lamine Yamal, who for me is now one of the best in the world...and at his age. The truth is I'd really like to play with him."

Where would Paz fit in at Barcelona?

It is currently unclear whether Barcelona would have the means to sign Paz, considering their well-documented financial issues.

Even if they were in a position to complete the signing, there is certainly some doubt about whether they need to sign an attacking midfielder this summer.

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick can already call upon the likes of Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez to play in the number 10 position.

With that said, Paz has previously demonstrated that he can also play as a central midfielder, a winger and even as a centre-forward.
