Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Kieran Tierney to Celtic, Josh Maja to Bournemouth and Umar Sadiq to Valencia.

The January transfer window is now open and Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney could soon be heading for the exit door.

Indeed, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that negotiations are underway for the Scotsman to make a return to Glaswegian giants Celtic.

Romano states that Tierney is keen on the move to Parkhead and talks between both parties will continue until they reach a full agreement.

The 27-year-old has spent the last five years with the Gunners since joining from Celtic for around £25m, but his time at the Emirates Stadium has been hampered by injury issues.

Tierney was sent out on loan to Real Sociedad last season, playing 26 times for the Spanish club, and he has since made just one appearance for Arsenal this term due to a troublesome hamstring problem.

It is thought that Celtic and Arsenal are in negotiations over a permanent move for Tierney, as the defender is out of contract in the summer.

Sadiq set for Valencia medical ahead of loan move

One of Tierney's former teammates at Real Sociedad, Umar Sadiq, is also set to seek pastures new this month, as he is allegedly on the verge of joining Valencia.

The 27-year-old striker joined Real Sociedad from Almeria for around €20m in 2022, but he has only scored four goals in 50 appearances for the La Liga club across all competitions.

Sadiq has failed to find the net in 11 outings so far this season and has fallen down the pecking order under Imanol Alguacil, leading to speculation about his long-term future.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sadiq has now agreed to join Valencia on an initial loan deal with an option to buy from Real Sociedad.

The Nigeria international is due to undergo a medical on Friday before completing his move to a side sitting 19th in the La Liga table and four points adrift of safety.

Maja wanted by Premier League trio?

Elsewhere, West Bromwich Albion striker Josh Maja is reportedly attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs this month.

The 26-year-old has been a standout performer in the Championship this season and has scored a team-high 12 goals in 25 games - only Norwich City's Borja Sainz (15) has netted more.

Maja most recently scored a brace in West Brom's 3-1 home victory over Preston North End on New Year's Day, helping the club climb to sixth in the Championship table.

According to Fichajes, Bournemouth, Ipswich Town and Southampton are among the top suitors for the former Sunderland and Fulham striker.

Both Southampton and Ipswich are keen to bolster their attacking options in a bid to boost their hopes of top-flight survival, while Bournemouth are said to be keen to add depth in the attacking department as they continue their pursuit of European football.

Maja is under contract at The Hawthorns until June 2026 and is believed to be valued in the region of €12m (£9.9m).
