AC Milan have reportedly struck a verbal agreement to sign Brighton & Hove Albion and Ecuador left-back Pervis Estupinan.
The Rossoneri were searching for a successor to former mainstay Theo Hernandez, who left San Siro for the riches of Al-Hilal earlier in the window.
After failing with a move for Englishman Archie Brown, who decided to join Fenerbahce over Milan, the Italian giants made Brighton's Estupinan their top target in that area of the field.
Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that a verbal agreement is in place between the Seagulls and the Rossoneri, who will pay a fixed fee of €17m (£14.8m) potentially rising to €19m (£16.5m) through add-ons.
Brighton owner Tony Bloom has personally given the green light to the transfer, and the 'formal steps' will now follow as Estupinan bids farewell to the Premier League.
The 27-year-old departs Brighton having registered five goals and 14 assists in 104 appearances for the Seagulls since making the switch from Villarreal in the summer of 2022.
Gianluigi Donnarumma emerges as 'dream' target for shock club
From the future of AC Milan to the Rossoneri's past, Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma has apparently emerged as a dream target for German giants Galatasaray.
The Italy international excelled during Les Parisiens' run to Champions League glory last season, but he is now in the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes.
Negotiations over a new deal with the PSG hierarchy are yet to bear fruit, and a handful of European clubs - namely Manchester City and Manchester United - are said to have been monitoring the situation.
However, Tuttomercatoweb claims that Galatasaray have also thrown their hat into the ring for Donnarumma, as the Turkish giants are about to receive a staggering €500m (£433.7m) through a training-ground deal.
Galatasaray can therefore splash the cash like never before, as they are doing with Victor Osimhen, who is set to make a permanent switch to the club in a move totalling €75m (£65.1m).
It remains to be seen if Donnarumma would accept Galatasaray's proposal, though, and there is still a chance that the 26-year-old's camp come to an agreement over a new deal with PSG.
Ashley Young's next club revealed as Watford 'priced out' of move
Back in England, veteran defender Ashley Young is apparently on the verge of signing for Ipswich Town after Watford were priced out of a move for the 40-year-old.
Young became a free agent when his Everton contract expired at the end of last season, and an emotional return to Vicarage Road was believed to have been on the cards for the defender.
Young came through the Hornets' youth ranks and broke into the first team before signing for Aston Villa in 2007, but talkSPORT reports that Watford will not be able to bring him back for a second spell.
The defender's wage demands supposedly proved excessive for the Hornets, and Young will instead join recently-relegated Ipswich for the upcoming Championship campaign.
Despite celebrating his 40th birthday on July 9, Young has no plans to retire anytime soon, and he made 32 appearances for Everton in the 2024-25 Premier League season.
The former Manchester United man has played over 750 club matches since his professional debut in 2003, scoring 87 goals.
Rangers, Celtic 'in battle' for 18-year-old Serbian starlet
Born the same year that Young joined Aston Villa, 18-year-old Serbian starlet Andrej Bacanin is supposedly at the heart of an Old Firm transfer tussle between Celtic and Rangers.
The 6ft 1in midfielder currently plies his trade for Serbian first-tier side Cukaricki, and he enjoyed a breakthrough 2024-25 with 19 senior appearances in all competitions.
Bacanin scored one goal and provided two assists in the process, and he also represented Serbia from Under-15 to Under-19 level, winning 10 caps for the latter.
Bacanin's contract with Cukaricki runs until the summer of 2027, but according to Football Insider, the talented teenager is expected to depart the club in the current window.
Celtic and Rangers are apparently at the head of a queue of clubs which also includes Udinese and Ajax, and a bidding war could soon break out between the two Scottish Premiership rivals.
