Mohammed Kudus registers his first assist as a Tottenham Hotspur player as the Lilywhites defeat Reading 2-0 in Thomas Frank's opening match in charge.

Mohammed Kudus registered his first assist as a Tottenham Hotspur player as the Lilywhites defeated Reading 2-0 in their opening pre-season contest at the Madejski Stadium.

Thomas Frank's debut match saw the Dane name a strong starting lineup for the showdown with the League One side, as Dominic Solanke, Rodrigo Bentancur, Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro all made the first XI.

Following a goalless opening 45, Frank unsurprisingly made a full 11 changes at the break, bringing on both Kudus and teenage defensive talent Luka Vuskovic for their unofficial debuts.

Vuskovic had already proven himself as a potent attacking threat before joining Spurs, and the 18-year-old demonstrated as such twice in the space of five minutes early in the second half.

Vuskovic firstly headed a corner onto Will Lankshear to break the deadlock in the 49th minute, four moments before an instinctive first-time finish from Kudus's cutback.

Spurs had further opportunities to add to their advantage, but the Lilywhites ultimately declared at two following a comfortable afternoon's work.

Frank's men now head to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town next Saturday, before embarking on their pre-season tour of Asia, where they will face Arsenal in Hong Kong and Newcastle United in South Korea.
