Crystal Palace reportedly set a £100m asking price for a player who is attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Crystal Palace have reportedly placed a mammoth £100m price tag on Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool-linked midfielder Adam Wharton.

The 21-year-old has seamlessly adapted to the demands of the Premier League since joining Palace from Blackburn Rovers in the 2024 winter transfer window.

Wharton struggled with a couple of injury issues last term, but he still started 21 of his 27 competitive appearances for Oliver Glasner's side.

The Englishman started four of Palace's six games in their triumphant FA Cup campaign, including May's 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the final at Wembley.

Wharton's impressive performances in the Palace engine room have led to rumours of a potential move away from Selhurst Park.

Tottenham and Liverpool are believed to be among the clubs showing an interest in signing the Palace star this summer.

However, according to Football Insider, it will take a substantial fee for Wharton's suitors to prise him away from Oliver Glasner's side.

The Eagles will demand a fee in excess of £100m in a bid to ward off any serious interest in the midfielder.

Palace are under no obvious pressure to sell Wharton, considering the fact that he is under contract until the summer of 2029.

The report also claims that Manchester City and Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on the England international.

Palace battling to avoid summer exodus

After winning the FA Cup last term, Palace will have to balance the demands of their domestic football with their European obligations next term.

With that in mind, the Eagles will be keen to retain the services of their key players for a demanding campaign, but that may prove to be easier said than done.

In addition to Wharton, Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, and Jean-Philippe Mateta have also been linked with moves away from Selhurst Park before the transfer window shuts at the start of September.

While Palace would look to replace any major departures, they will want to avoid losing a whole host of key players in one transfer window.
