Sports Mole previews Saturday's Swedish Allsvenskan clash between Djurgardens IF and Elfsborg, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Elfsborg will be bidding to make it successive victories in the Allsvenskan when they continue their campaign with an away fixture against Djurgardens IF on Saturday.

Djurgardens are currently 10th in the Allsveskan table, boasting 19 points from their 15 league matches this season, while Elfsborg are fourth, three points behind third-placed AIK.

Djurgardens have a record of five wins, four draws and six defeats from their 15 league matches this season, with a total of 19 points leaving them in 10th position in the table.

The Blue Stripes are 12-time Swedish champions, with their last success coming in 2019, while they were fourth last term, but it has been a struggle for the team during the current season.

Indeed, Jani Honkavaara's side are 13 points off third-placed AIK, while they are only actually six points above the relegation zone, demonstrating their problems this term.

Djurgardens will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Varnamo, but they did record a big victory in front of their own supporters last time out, running out 5-1 winners over Degerfors.

Elfsborg, meanwhile, returned to winning ways last time out, posting a 2-1 success over IFK Goteborg, with the result moving them onto 29 points in the table, which is enough for fourth spot.

Oscar Hiljemark's side have won nine, drawn two and lost four of their 15 league games this term, and they are only four points behind second-placed Hammarby with a game in hand.

The Yellow Ones are six-time Swedish champions, with their last success coming in 2012, but they ended last season in seventh, so there was plenty of room for improvement this term.

Elfsborg have picked up 13 points from their seven away league matches this season, while Djurgardens have 10 points to show from their eight league games in front of their own fans.

These two teams last locked horns in Sweden's top flight at the end of May, and it was Elfsborg that recorded a 4-0 victory in front of their own supporters.

Team News

Djurgardens will be without the services of Nino Zugelj and Malkolm Nilsson Safqvist through injury.

The home side are otherwise in strong shape, and there will again be a spot in the final third of the field for Tokmac Nguen, who has scored nine times this season.

August Priske has also found the back of the net on nine occasions this term, and the 21-year-old is another certain starter for the home side this weekend.

As for Elfsborg, Frederik Ihler has scored seven times in 15 appearances this season, and there will be a spot in the final third of the field for the 22-year-old striker.

Simon Hedlund has been an outstanding performer from a wing-back position, scoring six times and registering seven assists, and he will again be in the XI for Elfsborg here.

No injuries have been reported, so it is entirely possible that head coach Hiljemark will name the same starting lineup that took to the field for the first whistle of the clash with Goteborg last time out.
