Manchester United are reportedly hopeful that Real Betis' interest in signing Antony on a permanent basis could put them in the driving seat when it comes to a possible deal for Jesus Rodriguez.
Antony made the move on loan to Real Betis in January, and he has been in strong form for the Seville outfit, scoring four times and registering four assists in 15 appearances in all competitions.
As it stands, the 25-year-old will return to Old Trafford this summer, but he has hinted on numerous occasions in recent weeks that he is not planning to head back to Manchester for the 2025-26 campaign.
Real Betis have expressed a desire to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis, and according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Man United could use the situation in their favour when it comes to a possible deal for Rodriguez.
A number of major clubs are believed to be keeping an eye on Rodriguez's progress, with the 19-year-old being a regular for Real Betis this season, featuring on 24 occasions, scoring twice and registering one assist.

Man United 'could use Antony to land Rodriguez'
"The understanding is that during conversations with Betis, at some point, United have asked about Rodriguez," Bailey told United in Focus.
"He is a young forward who can play both sides and as an attacking midfielder, and United have enquired about him during the talks centred around Antony.
"The teenager has also been linked to Chelsea and Liverpool. They've all looked at him. He's an outstanding young player who United have asked about. "
Rodriguez has scored once and provided one assist in 15 La Liga appearances during the 2024-25 campaign, while he has also netted once in six outings in the Conference League.

How much would Rodriguez cost?
There is believed to be a £42m release clause in Rodriguez's Real Betis contract, and it is certainly possible that Manuel Pellegrini's side could point to that figure if clubs approach them this summer.
However, Antony's situation makes it interesting, as Man United are said to be looking for around £40m for the Brazilian, which opens up the possibility of a swap deal taking place at the end of the campaign.
A lot of things would need to fall into place for that to become a realistic deal, including Antony being willing to accept a pay cut, but Man United seemingly have the edge over both Chelsea and Liverpool when it comes to a possible move for the talented 19-year-old.
