Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has suggested that Casemiro could remain with the club next season despite being heavily linked with a move away from the Red Devils.
Casemiro initially struggled to earn minutes under Amorim following the Portuguese's arrival at Old Trafford, and the Man United head coach claimed earlier this year that the midfielder did not have the required "characteristics" to thrive in his system.
"He has to have the characteristics and then I have to choose the player with the characteristics on how I see the game," Amorim said back in January.
"It is just like that and I have to make some choices, I want to play a game that is sometimes different from other coaches and I have to choose based on that. That's all."
However, Casemiro has been an important player for Man United of late, particularly in the Europa League, and he provided three assists in the team's 5-4 success over Lyon in the second leg of their quarter-final last time out.

Amorim hints at Casemiro stay amid exit talk
The 33-year-old's future remains the subject of much speculation, with a number of clubs from the Saudi Pro League believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation at Old Trafford.
Casemiro collects in the region of £350,000 a week at Man United, and it had been thought that the club were keen to move him on at the end of the season, but Amorim has hinted that the Brazilian could remain with the club.
"Everything can happen. Casemiro is the best example," Amorim told reporters on Friday when asked whether certain players could change his mind in the latter stages of the 2024-25 campaign.
"He was a player who wasn't playing and then, you see the last games, he is having a part and he is performing quite well, he is playing all the time, so I am not the kind of coach... I like to change my mind. If they change my mind, I am really happy with that. I just want to win and to put the best players in my team."

Should Man United keep Casemiro this summer?
Casemiro struggled in the Man United midfield when he had a lack of protection, but it is no surprise that his performances have improved with energy around him, and Manuel Ugarte is the perfect midfield partner for him from that point of view.
Christian Eriksen is set to leave Old Trafford on a free transfer this summer, so there is certainly a strong argument for keeping Casemiro considering his form in recent months.
The situation will be different if a club presents Man United with a large offer for the ex-Real Madrid star, as it would also allow them to remove a huge salary from their budget.
However, if that is not the case, the Red Devils should keep hold of Casemiro, as he can be valuable in certain matches, and it remains to be seen whether the funds are there to bring in a new central midfielder during the summer market.
Casemiro has made 36 appearances for Man United during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring three goals and registering three assists in the process, including one goal in 21 outings in the Premier League.
