Fulham have reportedly secured a deal to sign Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte.
The West London club are looking to assemble a squad that can improve upon last season's 11th-placed finish.
However, Fulham boss Marco Silva will likely be frustrated by the fact that the club are yet to make a signing this summer.
That could soon change, though, with Fulham believed to be on the verge of bolstering their goalkeeper options ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Fulham closing in on Lecomte transfer
According to Foot Mercato, Fulham are close to signing the experienced Lecomte from Ligue 2 side Montpellier.
The report claims that the French club have already lined up Montreal Impact's Jonathan Sirois as Lecomte's replacement.
Meanwhile, journalist Bertrand Queneutte has reported that Lecomte travelled to London on Monday to finalise the transfer.
The Cottagers have agreed to pay €500,000 (£433,402) to sign a player who has two years left to run on his Montpellier contract.
Who is Benjamin Lecomte?
Lecomte has spent the majority of his career playing in his native France, apart from a couple of brief loan spells with Atletico Madrid and Espanyol.
The 34-year-old returned to Montpellier for a second spell in 2023, but he is now set to leave the club following a disappointing campaign.
Lecomte kept just one clean sheet in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season as Montpellier were relegated to the second tier for the first time in 21 years.
As one of Montpellier's best-paid players, it was always expected that Lecomte would leave La Paillade following their relegation.
The Frenchman will certainly bring a wealth of experience to Craven Cottage, having made over 400 competitive appearances during his senior career.
Lecomte is set to displace Steven Benda as Fulham's number two goalkeeper, which could push the former Swansea City goalkeeper towards the exit door.
