Brentford vs. Everton: Bees out to achieve first-time feat in Premier League home clash

Brentford will be looking to achieve something for the first time in their Premier League history when they welcome Everton to the Gtech Community Stadium for Wednesday's Premier League clash.

Brentford will attempt to claim their first Premier League home midweek victory when they welcome Everton to the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday.

The Bees return to home surroundings after competing in back-to-back away games against West Ham United and Leicester City.

They edged out the Hammers via a narrow 1-0 scoreline, before they cruised to a 4-0 victory against Leicester City to make it four Premier League away wins in a row.

In contrast to their away form, Brentford have taken just one point from their previous five Premier League home games since beating Newcastle United 4-2 in December.

Brentford out to achieve first-time feat

The Bees, who are currently in 11th spot, will know that they need to halt their winless home run if they are to have any hopes of mounting a serious challenge for European qualification.

However, claiming three points on Wednesday will be easier said than done and not just because Everton are unbeaten in six top-flight matches.

Brentford may be in their fourth consecutive Premier League campaign, but they are yet to win a top-flight home fixture on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

In fact, the Bees have drawn three and lost four of their seven Premier League midweek fixtures that have taken place at the Gtech Community Stadium.

As a result, they will enter Wednesday's fixture with hopes of claiming their first-ever midweek home win in their Premier League history.

Bees looking to end clean sheet wait

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank will also be challenging his team to achieve another first in their clash with the Toffees.

The Bees will be looking to claim their first home clean sheet of the season, having conceded in each of their 13 league games at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Perhaps, they can take some confidence from the fact that they recorded a shutout in November's goalless away draw against the Toffees, although that result did extend their winless run in head-to-head meetings to five matches.

As a result of that recent record, Brentford have not beaten Everton since recording a 3-2 away victory in May 2022, while their most recent home win over the Toffees took place in November 2021 when Ivan Toney scored from the spot in a 1-0 victory.
