Adama Traore is losing his fight to convince Barcelona to re-sign him on a permanent deal this summer, according to a report.

Adama Traore is reportedly losing his fight to convince Barcelona to re-sign him on a permanent deal during this summer's transfer window.

The Spain international returned to Camp Nou in January on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and he has been a regular under Xavi, making 11 appearances, contributing four assists in the process.

The 26-year-old has not started in La Liga since the end of February, though, playing just 10 minutes of the team's last three matches in Spain's top flight.

Meanwhile, the attacker found it difficult to make his mark against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night, being withdrawn in the 62nd minute of the contest.

Barcelona will have the chance to re-sign Traore on a permanent basis this summer for a fee in the region of £29m.

However, according to El Nacional, the Catalan outfit are currently leaning towards allowing Traore to return to Molineux due to his recent struggles.

The report claims that the Spaniard 'missed a great opportunity' to make his mark against Frankfurt in the first leg of their European quarter-final after being preferred to Ousmane Dembele.

Traore's existing deal with his parent club is due to expire in June 2023.
