Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved insists that the Bianconeri are keeping faith with Massimiliano Allegri amid talk of a possible move for Antonio Conte.

Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has firmly shot down rumours claiming that his side are keen to re-hire Antonio Conte from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Old Lady's current incumbent Massimiliano Allegri is under huge pressure after overseeing a dismal start to the season domestically and in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri's hopes of making the last 16 of the Champions League were ended in a 4-3 defeat to Benfica last week, marking the first time since 2013-14 that they have failed to make it out of the group.

Juventus now tackle Paris Saint-Germain on the final matchday aiming to seal the consolation prize of a Europa League spot, and they are already well off the pace in terms of the Serie A title race.

Juve have taken 22 points from their opening 12 games of the season to sit sixth in the table - 10 points behind leaders Napoli after beating Lecce 1-0 in the latest round of fixtures.

As a result, former Juve boss Conte - who left the club in 2014 in acrimonious circumstances following a spat with chairman Andrea Agnelli - has been heavily linked with a move back to Turin.

However, Nedved has insisted that his side will continue to keep faith in Allegri, whose team have now won three in a row in Serie A after also getting the better of Torino and Empoli.

"Our position is always the same, what we always said: the club, players and everyone has full faith in coach Allegri," the former Czech Republic midfielder told DAZN.

"It's normal when not getting the wins Juve expect that names will emerge in the media, there will probably be more, but we remain firm on our position. We'll give him the opportunity to do his work and do it well."

Conte's Tottenham future is being called into question nonetheless, as the 53-year-old is only contracted to the North London club until the end of the current season.

The Italian is expected to be offered an extension by Spurs, who are reportedly planning to open contract talks during the imminent World Cup break in November.

When quizzed on links with a return to Juventus recently, Conte echoed Nedved's sentiments and blasted the rumours as "disrespectful", telling reporters: "This is incredible. In this period I think this is disrespectful for the coach that works in Juventus and for me working in Tottenham.

"We have just started the season. Many times I have spoken about this topic and I've always said I'm happy and enjoying my time with Tottenham. We have the whole season to find the best solution for the club and for me, and for sure, I'm enjoying my time at Tottenham.

"I have a great relationship with the owner and [Fabio] Paratici [Spurs managing director of football]. I don't see any problems at the moment in the future. We both signed the contract. I don't want to listen to someone speaking about this [speculation]."

Conte has a record of 31 wins, nine draws and 14 losses under his belt from 54 games in charge of Tottenham, and the most recent of those victories came in Saturday's dramatic 3-2 win at Bournemouth.

The 53-year-old will now hope to see his side progress to the Champions League knockout rounds when they tackle Marseille in Group D on Tuesday night, where a draw will guarantee a top-two finish for Tottenham.
