Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea emerges as a target for Sevilla and Real Betis, according to a report.

Sevilla and Real Betis are reportedly among a number of La Liga clubs to be keeping a close eye on David de Gea's contract situation at Manchester United.

The Spaniard's deal with the 20-time English champions is due to expire next June, and Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag recently said that the club were yet to make a decision on his future at Old Trafford.

De Gea has revealed a desire to stay with Man United "for more years", but the Premier League outfit are believed to be considering signing a new number one for the 2023-24 campaign.

Porto's Diogo Costa and Benfica's Odysseas Vlachodimos are among the stoppers to be linked with a switch to Old Trafford over the last few weeks.

As a result, De Gea's future at the club is in serious doubt, and according to Estadio Deportivo, there are a number of Spanish teams keeping a close eye on the situation.

The report claim that the firmest interest at this moment in time is coming from Sevilla and Real Betis, with the latter thought to be best-placed to sign him.

As it stands, De Gea would be free to hold discussions with foreign clubs at the start of 2023 over a potential move at the end of the campaign.

However, Man United could yet decide to activate a 12-month extension in his contract, which would allow them to sell him next summer rather than lose him on a free.

De Gea made 84 appearances for Atletico, including 49 in all competitions during the 2010-11 campaign, before making the move to Man United in the summer of 2011.

Aside from a spell out of the side during the 2020-21 campaign, with Dean Henderson taking over the gloves, the Spaniard has been the club's number one throughout his time at Old Trafford.

De Gea has made 501 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions, keeping 171 clean sheets in the process.

Man United signed Martin Dubravka on loan from Newcastle United over the summer, but De Gea has remained the number one this term, making 14 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets.

The Spaniard has played every minute of his side's Europa League campaign to date, in addition to all 10 games in the Premier League.

There could be a big change in the goalkeeping department at Old Trafford next summer, as Dubravka is likely to return to Newcastle, while Tom Heaton's contract is due to expire at the end of the campaign.

Henderson is due back following a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, but the England international could then leave the club on a permanent basis.
