Manchester United are considering bringing Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay back to the club, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly not ruled out re-signing Memphis Depay before the end of the transfer window.

The Red Devils continue to work on a deal for Ajax attacker Antony and are said to be confident of signing the Brazil international before the market closes for business.

However, Man United boss Erik ten Hag is believed to want two attackers amid the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo's future, as the Portugal international could still potentially leave over the next week.

Memphis is widely expected to leave Barcelona before the deadline, and he had been strongly linked with a switch to Juventus.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Netherlands international's proposed move to Turin has collapsed.

Romano claims that a deal was 'almost agreed last Thursday', but Juventus have now brought in Arkadiusz Milik on loan from Marseille, so Memphis will no longer be heading to the Old Lady.

Man United have recently been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old, who has entered the final year of his contract at Camp Nou.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the 20-time English champions have not ruled out bringing Memphis back to the club before the end of the transfer window.

The report insists that Antony remains the priority, but Memphis is seen as another potential addition, as Ten Hag looks to put together a squad capable of challenging on all fronts this term.

The Dutchman, who moved to Camp Nou on a free transfer last year after running down his contract at Lyon, scored 13 times and contributed two assists in 38 appearances for his Catalan club last term.

Memphis was an important player for Barcelona in the first half of the campaign, but he struggled with injury problems towards the end of 2021, while the team's January additions restricted his game time.

The forward previously represented Man United between 2015 and 2017, only managing seven goals in 53 appearances for the Red Devils before moving on.

Memphis netted 76 goals for Lyon ahead of a move to Barcelona, though, and he was the club's leading goalscorer in La Liga (12) last term.

Man United have also been heavily linked with Frenkie de Jong during this summer's transfer window, with the Dutchman seen as the club's leading midfield target, but Casemiro's arrival from Real Madrid has seemingly seen Ten Hag's side end their interest.
