Manchester United defender Harry Maguire issues statement regarding his participation in the pre-season tour of America.

Manchester United have announced their squad for the pre-season tour of the United States.

The Red Devils began their preparation for the new season with a 0-0 draw against Leeds United, and Ruben Amorim's side will continue to play against Premier League teams, as they take on West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier League Summer Series as part of their pre-season preparation.

Harry Maguire did not make it in the 32-man squad due to personal reasons; the England defender issued a statement on Instagram, stating that the problem has been resolved and he will join the team on Wednesday.

"All is fine now," Maguire wrote on Tuesday. "I will be travelling tomorrow to meet up with the squad."

Marcus Rashford is reportedly close to joining Barcelona on loan. The Catalan giants will have the option to sign him permanently next season.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Rashford has signed his contract as a new Barcelona player, with only official confirmation missing.

Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho do not feature in Amorim's plans, and they have been left out of the squad.

These players have reportedly informed the club of their desire to leave, and the Red Devils have given them an extended break until late July to explore possible moves.

Teenage full-back Harry Amass is also missing from the squad as the club have decided to send him on loan for the 2025-26 season.

New signings Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have been included while Andre Onana will also travel with the squad despite injury.
