Man City injury, suspension list and return dates for Bournemouth: Mateo Kovacic, Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Ake updates

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Hoping to swap Wembley woes for Etihad elation, a wounded Manchester City side return home on Tuesday night to square up to Bournemouth in their final Premier League home game of the season.

Pep Guardiola's men will finish the 2024-25 season with just the Community Shield to show for their efforts after a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to an inspired Crystal Palace in Saturday's FA Cup final.

If there is any consolation for City, it is that their Champions League fate still remains in their own hands, as they sit just one point adrift of Chelsea and Aston Villa in the top-flight table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of the Cherries, who remain in the running for eighth spot and a possible place in the Conference League.

Mateo Kovacic

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: May 20 (vs. Bournemouth)

Mateo Kovacic was a surprise absentee from the squad for the FA Cup final, and it subsequently emerged that the Croatian was dealing with a knock, also putting his participation in Tuesday's game into some doubt.

Rodri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Wydad AC)

Rodri is almost eight months into his recovery from a devastating ACL injury and is closing in on a comeback, which may happen at the Club World Cup, but not on Tuesday.

Nathan Ake

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Fulham)

Nathan Ake is on the road to recovery from a foot operation, and while he will miss out on a reunion with his former club this week, a return before the end of the campaign is not beyond the realm of possibility.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Fulham)

Likewise, John Stones's thigh injury - which he sustained in February - should not heal in time for Tuesday, and it remains to be seen if he can force his way into the reckoning for the final-day clash with Fulham.

Oscar Bobb

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: May 25 (vs. Fulham)

A frustrating season for Oscar Bobb has seen the Norwegian pick up a thigh problem not long after recovering from a broken leg, and the attacker is also touch-and-go for the final day of the season.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
