Aston Villa will be looking to end a 15-year streak when they face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Aston Villa will attempt to end a 15-year streak when they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The home side will become Premier League champions if they can overcome Villa in front of their own supporters, with a draw or defeat opening up the door to rivals Liverpool.

While the Merseyside giants will be hopeful of club legend Steven Gerrard doing them a favour this weekend, they will not be encouraged by the statistics ahead of the game in the North West.

Villa have suffered defeat in all but one of their last 16 matches away at Man City, their only success during that period coming in April 2007.

Since that occasion, when John Carew and Shaun Maloney got on the scoresheet, Villa have suffered 11 straight defeats, the longest losing away streak against any opponent in their history.

The West Midlands outfit have also lost 10 of their 18 fixtures on their travels this campaign, although they will make the trip to Manchester having collected four points from games at Leicester City and Burnley.
