Almeria through after Real Betis win

Almeria beat Real Betis 2-1 to progress in the Copa Del Rey.

Goals from Michel and Jonathan Zongo helped Almeria reach the fifth round of the Copa Del Rey with a 2-1 win over Real Betis this evening.

The hosts had a 4-3 advantage from the first leg in Seville, but could have fallen behind when Vincenzo Rennella's shot from a tight angle needed to be stopped by Julian.

Almeria took the lead just before the hour mark when Michel turned Verza's pinpoint set piece into the bottom corner of Dani Gimenez's net.

Real fell further behind on 74 minutes thanks to Jonathan Zongo's thunderous strike from distance and appeared to be lost for the visitors.

Betis did pull a goal back when Cristiano Piccini's corner was rifled home by Damien Perquis.

However, Almeria were able to see out the remainder of the game to reach round five.
