Sports Mole looks at the highlights, man of the match, and stats from Thursday's Europa League clash between Bodo/Glimt and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur advanced into the Europa League final after overcoming hosts Bodo/Glimt 2-0 on Thursday in the second leg of their semi-final clash, beating their Norwegian counterparts 5-1 on aggregate.

Neither side created many goalscoring opportunities in the first half, though midfielder Yves Bissouma wasted a good chance near the interval when he was afforded time and space in the box following a corner, sending his effort over the crossbar.

However, Spurs would go on to take the lead around the hour mark when Dominic Solanke poked home Cristian Romero's knockdown from a corner.

Pedro Porro would seal the Londoners' progression into the final less than 10 minutes later when his attempted cross from the right somehow floated over the head of goalkeeper Nikita Haikin and into the net.

Spurs will face Manchester United in the final on May 21 in Spain after their Premier League rivals saw past Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.

SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT

Bodo/Glimt can be proud of their Europa League run considering they are the first Norwegian side to have reached the semi-final stage of a major European competition.

Spurs' success in Europe cannot override the fact that Ange Postecoglou has presided over a disastrous domestic campaign, but they at least have the opportunity to make genuine progress as a club.

A win in the Europa League final would not only secure Tottenham's place in the Champions League next term, but it would also be their first trophy since 2008.

45+1stth min: Yves Bissouma (Tottenham Hotspur) shot

Porro's corner makes its way through a crowd to the edge of the box, and the ball lands at the feet of Bissouma, but the midfielder slices a left-footed effort over the crossbar.

The best chance of the game missed!

Dominic Solanke goal vs. Bodo/Glimt (63rd min, Bodo/Glimt 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur)

Spurs swing in a corner from the left, and Romero rises highest to knock possession down into the centre of the penalty area, and Solanke darts to the ball and squeezes an attempt into the back of the net.

That will surely seal their progress!

Pedro Porro goal vs. Bodo/Glimt (69th min, Bodo/Glimt 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur)

Porro collects possession on the right flank and attempts to play a cross from the side of the box into the danger zone, but his delivery loops over goalkeeper Haikin before bouncing off the post and over the line.

Tie over!

MAN OF THE MATCH - PEDRO PORRO

In the absence of James Maddison, Porro stepped up and acted as his team's main hub of creativity, creating the most chances (two) and playing the most passes into the final third of any Spurs player (12).

The right-back admittedly benefitted from an element of luck after his cross caught out shot-stopper Haikin, but the defender earned his good fortune given his exceptional performance.
