Tottenham Hotspur advanced into the Europa League final after overcoming hosts Bodo/Glimt 2-0 on Thursday in the second leg of their semi-final clash, beating their Norwegian counterparts 5-1 on aggregate.
Neither side created many goalscoring opportunities in the first half, though midfielder Yves Bissouma wasted a good chance near the interval when he was afforded time and space in the box following a corner, sending his effort over the crossbar.
However, Spurs would go on to take the lead around the hour mark when Dominic Solanke poked home Cristian Romero's knockdown from a corner.
Pedro Porro would seal the Londoners' progression into the final less than 10 minutes later when his attempted cross from the right somehow floated over the head of goalkeeper Nikita Haikin and into the net.
Spurs will face Manchester United in the final on May 21 in Spain after their Premier League rivals saw past Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.
SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT
© Imago
Bodo/Glimt can be proud of their Europa League run considering they are the first Norwegian side to have reached the semi-final stage of a major European competition.
Spurs' success in Europe cannot override the fact that Ange Postecoglou has presided over a disastrous domestic campaign, but they at least have the opportunity to make genuine progress as a club.
A win in the Europa League final would not only secure Tottenham's place in the Champions League next term, but it would also be their first trophy since 2008.

MAN OF THE MATCH - PEDRO PORRO

In the absence of James Maddison, Porro stepped up and acted as his team's main hub of creativity, creating the most chances (two) and playing the most passes into the final third of any Spurs player (12).
The right-back admittedly benefitted from an element of luck after his cross caught out shot-stopper Haikin, but the defender earned his good fortune given his exceptional performance.
