Real Madrid target Aymeric Laporte is reportedly preparing to terminate his £390,000-per-week contract at Al-Nassr ahead of the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid target Aymeric Laporte is reportedly set to leave Al-Nassr this summer.

The 30-year-old made the high-profile switch from Manchester City to the Middle East during the summer transfer window of 2023 for around £23m.

Los Blancos have been linked with the player in the past, with the Spanish giants losing to arch rivals Barcelona last time out in La Liga.

Laporte has featured in 20 Saudi Pro League matches during the 2024-25 campaign, making the net ripple on four occasions from a centre-back position.

Since sealing a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia from the blue side of Manchester, Laporte has featured 69 times for Al-Nassr, scoring nine goals.

Real Madrid-linked Laporte set for £390,000 Saudi exit?

According to talkSPORT, Laporte's spell in the Middle East could be coming to a dramatic end after just two campaigns on the books of Al-Nassr.

The report claims that the Spaniard is 'set to terminate' his current contract, from which he earns around £390,000 per week to play in the Pro League.

As a result, Laporte is the third-highest paid defender in world football, behind Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Senegal's Kalidou Koulibaly.

Despite still having a year left on his lucrative deal with Al-Nassr, it is understood that the former Citizen will return to European football this summer.

Real Madrid were heavily linked with Laporte back in the summer of 2023 and are targeting the acquisition of a first-choice defender before the new campaign.

Laporte's falling out

Part of teams that have lifted the Euros, Premier League and Champions League, Laporte is undoubtedly one of the better players in Al-Nassr's squad.

However, the veteran has fallen out with manager Stefano Pioli in recent months, leaving the defender's future at the Saudi club in serious doubt.

Laporte failed to start the AFC Champions League semi-final versus Kawasaki Frontale on April 30 and has since been left out of both of his side's most recent Pro League squads.
