Real Madrid legend Luka Modric could supposedly be in line for a shock transfer to a British club if a certain managerial appointment comes to fruition.
The Croatia international will call time on his glittering Blancos career at the end of the 2024-25 season, departing after 13 years in the Spanish capital following his arrival in 2012.
Modric lost his status as an undisputed starter at Real Madrid towards the last stages of his stay, but he continued to play a pivotal role under Carlo Ancelotti in the 2024-25 campaign.
The 39-year-old may be celebrating his 40th birthday in a few months' time, but he nevertheless made a whopping 56 appearances last term, managing four goals and nine assists.
Modric has not pulled on the Real Madrid strip for the last time just yet, though, as he will represent Los Blancos at this summer's Club World Cup before clearing out his locker.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man has no plans to hang up his boots, as he is thought to be planning to represent Croatia at next year's World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

As well as Modric, Carlo Ancelotti will be embarking on pastures new with the Brazil national team, although his son Davide Ancelotti will not be accompanying him.
Instead, the 35-year-old is expected to join Rangers as their new head coach, and according to the BBC - via Mundo Deportivo - Modric is 'seriously considering' joining him at Ibrox.
The Croatia international will no doubt be offered the chance to continue his career in MLS or Saudi Arabia, where he could pocket a much higher salary than in the Scottish Premiership.
However, the report claims that Modric wants to continue his career in Europe before the 2026 World Cup, as he aims to arrive in North America in tip-top shape for the competition.
Over the course of 591 appearances for Real Madrid, Modric has managed 43 goals and 95 assists, and he could still play seven more matches for Los Blancos this summer.
Real Madrid face Al-Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg in Group H of the Club World Cup, with the first match taking place against the former on June 18.
