Man City injury, suspension news and return dates for Nottingham Forest FA Cup tie: Ederson, Bobb, Haaland, Rodri, Ake, Stones latest

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of their FA Cup semi-final showdown with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Manchester City are gearing up for their record seventh consecutive FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium where they will lock horns with Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

The Citizens travel to the capital in high spirits as they have put together a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions, most recently beating Premier League top-five rivals Aston Villa 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

While Champions League qualification is a priority for Pep Guardiola's side, they are also keen to end the season on a high by lifting silverware and are eyeing up an eighth FA Cup trophy. However, they will not be at full strength for their clash with the Tricky Trees.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this weekend's semi-final showdown with Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

Ederson

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: April 27 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Goalkeeper Ederson has missed the last two games with a groin problem, and while the Brazilian is a major doubt for this weekend, Guardiola has confirmed that he has returned to training.

Oscar Bobb

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

After more than six months out with a leg fracture before shaking off a separate ankle issue, Oscar Bobb has suffered another injury setback as he sustained a hamstring problem prior to the 2-0 win over Everton last weekend. Man City are said to be hopeful that the attacker will return before the end of the season.

Rodri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Rodri was expected to miss the rest of the 2024-25 season with an ACL injury that he sustained in September last year. However, the Ballon d'Or winner has made gradual progress in his recovery and has begun individual training.

There is a outside chance that Rodri will make his long-awaited comeback before the end of this season, but the Spaniard is unlikely to be rushed back into first-team action. Guardiola recently stated that he is unsure exactly when the midfielder will return.

Erling Haaland

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: May 10 (vs. Southampton)

Erling Haaland suffered an injury to his left ankle in the FA Cup win over Bournemouth on March 30 and at the time was ruled out for five to seven weeks. Guardiola recently stated that the Norwegian is making positive progress in his recovery, but he is unsure exactly when the striker will return.

Nathan Ake

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Nathan Ake underwent successful surgery on a fracture in his left foot at the beginning of March and Guardiola said at the time that he is facing 10 to 11 weeks on the sidelines, potentially ruling him out for the rest of the season.

John Stones

John Stones has been sidelined since mid-February with a thigh injury that he picked up in a Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. The defender was initially ruled out for between eight and 10 weeks, so he will likely target a return at some stage in May.
