Barcelona are reportedly looking to pocket at least £42.1m from any potential sale of Ferran Torres during the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have reportedly set their asking price for Ferran Torres ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is preparing to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign after undergoing an appendix operation in Spain on Wednesday night.

Torres made the high-profile switch from Premier League giants Manchester City to Barca during the winter transfer window of 2022, switching sceneries.

After three campaigns of inconsistency, the Spaniard has hit his stride during 2024-25, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists across 45 competitive appearances.

Torres bagged a hat-trick of vital assists on Sunday afternoon for Hansi Flick's men, who secured a crucial 4-3 victory over arch rivals Real Madrid in La Liga.

Barcelona set asking price for Torres?

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona have named their asking price for in-form Torres ahead of potential interest during the summer window.

The report claims that the Catalan club will listen to offers upwards of €50m (£42.1m) for the 25-year-old, who won Euro 2024 with Spain last summer.

It is understood that Torres is not perceived as 'indispensable' by Barca, regardless of his impressive displays across the course of the 2024-25 term.

Flick's men are supposedly not against keeping the attacker at the club, with the player viewed as someone that should be starting matches on the bench.

Given Barca's precarious financial situation, the departures of key men such as Torres might be required in order to buy new recruits this summer.

Where could Torres go?

Despite having a better goal-per-minute ratio than Robert Lewandowski this season, Torres and his La Liga career is on the Camp Nou chopping block.

Possessing the ability to play anywhere across the forward line, the Spaniard would be a useful addition at the majority of top European clubs.

The futures of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez at Anfield are uncertain, so perhaps Liverpool could do with a top-class reinforcement for their forward line.
