Sevilla reportedly plan to rival AC Milan for the signature of Arsenal and Poland defender Jakub Kiwior, who was linked with a move away from the Emirates in January.

Europa League holders and La Liga strugglers Sevilla are reportedly ready to battle AC Milan for the signature of Arsenal's Jakub Kiwior this summer.

The Poland international - who only arrived at the Emirates from Spezia midway through the 2022-23 season - was linked with a move away from the Emirates in January amid his lack of consistent game time.

Kiwior is currently playing second fiddle to the indispensable Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba in the central areas, and he has earned several of his fleeting starts this season as a makeshift left-back.

With Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber all injured, the 23-year-old lined up on the left for Sunday's 6-0 crushing of West Ham United, only his fifth start of the Premier League season.

Milan were believed to have been interested in bringing Kiwior back to Serie A for the second half of the current campaign, but Arsenal were not willing to let the Pole leave either on loan or permanently.

The Rossoneri have been tipped to rekindle their interest in Kiwior when the season comes to a close, but according to Estadio Deportivo - via Fichajes - Sevilla are also in the running.

Palanganas director Victor Orta is supposedly confident that Kiwior could be tempted away from the Emirates due to his bit-part role under Arteta, and Sevilla will assess the possibility of doing a deal this summer.

However, Arsenal - who paid £21.3m to bring Kiwior to the club in January 2023 - have no reason to sell the centre-back on the cheap, as he is still contracted to the North London giants until 2028.

The Poland international - who represented his nation at the 2022 World Cup - has one goal and one assist under his belt from 26 games for Arsenal, who are already expected to do away with at least one defender this summer.

Out-of-favour right-back Cedric Soares was unsuccessful in his attempts to push for a January exit, as a proposed switch to Turkey fell through, but he will most likely leave as a free agent when his deal expires in June.

The 32-year-old had not made a single Premier League appearance this season before the demolition job of West Ham, where he came off the bench for the final 13 minutes with the Gunners already six goals to the good.

Fellow full-back Kieran Tierney - currently on loan at Real Sociedad - is due to return to the Emirates from his Spanish stint this summer, but his long-term future is also clouded in uncertainty.

Arsenal moved level on points and goal difference with Manchester City in the Premier League table thanks to their dismantling of West Ham, but the champions still have a game in hand, and Liverpool remain two points clear at the top.

In contrast, Sevilla have only achieved four wins from their opening 23 La Liga matches to sit 15th in the standings, only three points clear of the relegation line.
