Norwich City have announced the sacking of head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup.
After impressing in Denmark with Nordsjaelland, Thorup was appointed by the Canaries to spearhead what was expected to be a promotion push.
Instead, Norwich has barely looked like putting together a challenge for the Championship playoffs, not helped by a slow start to the season.
Thorup has since lost 19 of his 47 matches in all competitions, winning just 14 times, and the East Anglian outfit sit in 14th position in the Championship table with two matches remaining.
Sitting only seven points clear of the relegation zone on the back of three successive defeats, Norwich have made the decision to part ways with the 36-year-old.

'Necessary to make a change'
Speaking on the club's official website, sporting director Ben Knapper suggested the club's hierarchy felt that they had no choice but to bring in a fresh face.
Knapper said: "Whilst we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us make a change.
"I'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to Johannes and Glen (assistant manager Riddersholm). They are both fantastic people who worked tirelessly to help improve and move our football club forward.
"We all wish the two of them the best in the next stage of their respective careers."

Wilshere given managerial bow
Having worked on the coaching staff at Carrow Road, Jack Wilshere has been promoted to interim head coach for the final two games of the season.
Since the former Arsenal star retired in 2022, he has been attempting to make his way as a coach, initially taking charge of Arsenal's Under-18s team.
In his first campaign in charge, Arsenal reached the FA Youth Cup final, while he had been working under Thorup from October onwards.
The former England international, who made 197 appearances for the Gunners, will now prepare for matches against Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.
Wilshere will face former Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsey in the second of those games, Ramsey having only been handed his own first stint as a head coach on an interim basis last week.
