Tottenham Hotspur are giving serious consideration to a move for 22-year-old Red Bull Salzburg winger Nene Dorgeles, according to a report.
A week of managerial chaos in North London should soon be nearing an end, as the Lilywhites are seemingly edging closer to the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new head coach.
Having apparently struck an agreement with the Dane himself, Tottenham are believed to have approached Brentford earlier this week and are growing optimistic of getting a deal done.
The club may have to pay around £10m in compensation to bring Frank and members of his backroom team to the club, but their qualification for the Champions League via Europa League success boosted their coffers significantly.
Once Frank is settled in his office, the 51-year-old will get to work identifying leading transfer targets for the 2025-26 season, and TEAMTalk claims that Dorgeles is one of them.
Who is Tottenham-linked attacker Dorgeles?
The 22-year-old Mali international was spotted by the famed Salzburg academy in January 2021 and has represented the Austrian giants ever since, albeit while also spending time out on loan.
Dorgeles turned out for FC Liefering, SV Ried and KVC Westerlo before making his Salzburg breakthrough last season, but it was in the 2024-25 campaign where the attacker's qualities truly came to the fore.
Dorgeles had a direct hand in 24 goals in 46 games across all tournaments last season - 15 of his own and nine assists - and he operated comfortably on both sides of the attack.
The youngster is also capable of operating in a central attacking role and has also struck seven goals in 23 appearances for Mali, helping his country reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals last year.
Tottenham 'learn Dorgeles asking price' as intense competition emerges
Young players thriving at Salzburg is nothing new, and the Austrian giants will be under no illusions that top clubs will soon come calling for the latest jewel in their crown.
Tottenham would not have to break the bank to sign the 22-year-old, as Salzburg will reportedly listen to offers between the €20m (£16.9m) and €25m (£21.1m) range during the summer transfer window.
The player himself also believes that now is the time to test himself in one of Europe's big five leagues, and Spurs will face competition from the Bundesliga and Serie A to land him.
Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg are apparently running the rule over Dorgeles, who could potentially replace Liverpool-linked Florian Wirtz at the former.
Meanwhile, Lazio and Fiorentina are said to be interested in bringing the versatile attacker to Serie A, but as is the case with Tottenham, neither side have followed up their interest with a formal bid yet.
