Tottenham Hotspur are supposedly hopeful of wrapping up an agreement for Brentford head coach Thomas Frank within 48 hours after making contact with the Bees.

Tottenham Hotspur have touched base with Brentford regarding head coach Thomas Frank and are hopeful of sealing an agreement within two days, according to a report.

The Dane was quickly identified as Spurs' leading candidate to fill the boots of Ange Postecoglou, who was relieved of his duties last week after a turbulent 2024-25 campaign.

Despite leading Tottenham to Europa League glory and a spot in the Champions League, Postecoglou was given the boot after presiding over Spurs' worst-ever Premier League season.

The Lilywhites suffered a staggering 22 defeats en route to a 17th-placed finish, the most games one side has ever lost in a Premier League season without being relegated.

Frank was one of four top contenders to become the next Tottenham head coach alongside Marco Silva, Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola, but he was always viewed as the number one pick.

Spurs want Frank agreement 'within 48 hours'

Following claims over the weekend that Frank had given Spurs the green light, The Athletic now reports that the Lilywhites have made contact with Brentford as they edge closer to an appointment.

The report claims that the two capital clubs enjoy a 'healthy relationship', and Tottenham are optimistic that they can appoint Frank as their new boss within the next 48 hours.

As the Scandinavian is still contracted to Brentford for another two years, Tottenham will have to fork out a hefty compensation fee, which could hit the £10m mark if Frank also takes some of his backroom staff with him.

The 51-year-old looks set to depart the Gtech Community Stadium after almost seven years at the helm, during which he has masterminded Brentford's rise from a Championship club to an established Premier League outfit.

Frank has won 136, drawn 71 and lost 110 of his 317 contests in charge of the West London club, who sneaked into the top half of the Premier League table last season.

Which Brentford players could Frank sign for Spurs?

Such has been the nature of Spurs' managerial uncertainty that there has been comparatively little transfer talk coming out of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, that will all change once the club have got their new boss through the doors, and he is already believed to be pushing for one of his key Brentford cogs to join him in North London.

Spurs are reportedly ready to rival Europa League final opponents Manchester United for the signature of Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, who is rumoured to have now decided on his 'priority' club.

Defender Nathan Collins is also said to be of interest to the Lilywhites, while the creativity of Mikkel Damsgaard could also come in handy if Dejan Kulusevski or James Maddison are ever out injured, as was the case at the end of the 2024-25 season.
