Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur will soon embark on their pre-season period with a largely similar squad to the one that Ange Postecoglou led to continental glory in 2024-25, albeit with one particularly noteworthy addition.

Despite the threat of London rivals Chelsea, Spurs convinced Mohammed Kudus that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was the place to be, and the Ghana international is now settling into his new surroundings after completing a £55m transfer from West Ham United earlier in July.

Kudus has become the Lilywhites' second-most expensive signing of all time - only trailing Dominic Solanke in those particular charts - although he may soon be eclipsed if Tottenham get their way in Morgan Gibbs-White talks.

The capital outfit were rumoured to be on the verge of signing the Nottingham Forest fulcrum after activating a £60m release clause in his City Ground contract, only for the Tricky Trees to lodge a legal complaint to the Premier League over what they believed was an illegal approach.

While the off-field drama remains unresolved, new manager Thomas Frank is preparing his troops for Saturday's pre-season opener against Reading, where Kudus may be one of three Spurs players to debut alongside embryonic centre-backs Kota Takai and Luka Vuskovic.
