Arsenal have confirmed a 30-strong squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, and as expected, Noni Madueke does not make the cut.
The Gunners confirmed the capture of the England international attacker from Chelsea on Friday, paying an upfront fee of £48m potentially rising to £52m in add-ons for the 23-year-old.
At the same time, Arsenal stated that Madueke would not be a part of their travelling party to the Far East, as he is still recuperating from his Club World Cup exploits from Chelsea.
Madueke was therefore unsurprisingly left off the list of Arsenal travellers for their summer tour, where they face three heavyweights clashes with AC Milan, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners' triple-header begins against Milan at Singapore's National Stadium on July 23, four days before a meeting with Newcastle at the same venue, and their tour concludes against North London rivals Spurs in Hong Kong on July 31.
Three signings and three fringe players included in Arsenal tour squad
While Madueke will have to wait a little longer to make his unofficial Arsenal debut, Mikel Arteta has called up his other three confirmed signings in Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
However, Cristhian Mosquera's move has not gone through in time for him to be involved, allegedly due to 'issues' found in the Valencia defender's medical, but there is optimism that a deal will be completed soon.
Furthermore, Arsenal will have to do without Viktor Gyokeres for their trip to the Far East, but a deal for the Sporting Lisbon striker is slowly but surely heading in the right direction.
Reiss Nelson, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga - three players who could be on the move this summer - will board the plane, though, as will Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Fabio Vieira is another notable absentee for the same reason as Madueke, having competed for Porto at the Club World Cup, but the Portuguese playmaker could also be sold in the coming weeks.
Which Arsenal youngsters are included in Arteta's tour squad?
As well as his senior stars, Arteta has named a plethora of up-and-coming academy talents in his tour squad, including 15-year-old wonderkid Max Dowman.
The 2009-born attacking midfielder was unable to make his first-team debut last season on account of his age, but he has been training with the senior squad frequently and will be expected to earn some minutes in the Far East.
Joining Dowman in the attack is 17-year-old Andre Harriman-Annous, who scored eight goals in 12 appearances in last season's Under-18 Premier League, while 15-year-old centre-back Marli Salmon will also be involved.
Salmon - who is just four months older than Dowman - has already played six times for the club's Under-21s and will now shadow William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes for the next week-and-a-half.
Eighteen-year-old midfielder Louie Copley has been called up too, in addition to 19-year-old goalkeeper Alexei Rojas.
