Manchester United allegedly hold talks with Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo and his representatives over a potential move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo and his representatives over a potential move to Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window.

The Red Devils are planning to boost their attack in the upcoming market, with Wolverhampton Wanderers' Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap also wanted by the club.

Semenyo has also been heavily linked with a switch to the 20-time English champions in recent months, and according to talkSPORT, discussions have been held over a transfer ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for Bournemouth during the 2024-25 season, scoring 11 times and registering seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

Semenyo has nine goals and six assists in the Premier League this term, meanwhile, and he has scored twice against Man United in England's top flight during the current season.

Man United 'hold talks' over Semenyo move

Bournemouth are believed to be willing to listen to offers for Semenyo this summer, and according to Football Insider, bids in the region of £50m would be seriously considered by the Cherries.

The report claims that Arsenal and Newcastle United are also keeping a close eye on the situation, with the pair considering making moves once the summer transfer window has officially opened.

Semenyo made the move to the Vitality Stadium from Bristol City in January 2023, and he has represented his current side on 87 occasions in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and registering 10 assists in the process.

Where would Semenyo fit in at Old Trafford?

Semenyo has shown his versatility by operating in a number of different positions this season, playing through the middle and off the right in the early stages of the 2024-25 campaign.

The forward is also capable of featuring down the left, and it is that versatility that could make him a hugely important player for Man United head coach Ruben Amorim, who is desperately looking to boost his attack.

Semenyo would likely be asked to fill one of the number 10 roles, with potential fellow new signing Cunha doing the same, as Amorim is looking for more pace and power in the final third of the field.

His arrival would further increase the speculation surrounding Alejandro Garnacho, who continues to be linked with an exit, while Rasmus Hojlund's future is also open to debate due to the Denmark international's struggles.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are all expected to leave on permanent deals this summer, which would provide Man United with a major financial boost, and it is obvious which area of the team is in need of improvement.

Man United will be in a much stronger financial position this summer if they secure Champions League football for next season, and that will occur if they manage to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League on May 21.
