Atletico Madrid are allegedly pushing to sign Manchester United attacker Antony during this summer's transfer window.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly pushing to sign Manchester United attacker Antony during this summer's transfer window.

The Brazilian spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Real Betis, scoring nine goals and registering five assists in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Antony will leave Man United this summer, with the 25-year-old not in the plans of Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim, but Real Betis are struggling to afford a permanent deal for the forward.

The attacker is not with the Red Devils squad in the United States, as his representatives continue to work on a departure.

The same can also be said for Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, with all four set to leave Old Trafford before the summer market closes for business.

Antony's form in the second half of last season has placed him on the radar of a number of clubs, and according to Fichajes, Atletico are keen to sign him during this summer's market.

Man United's Antony 'on Atletico's transfer shortlist'

The report claims that Atletico head coach Diego Simeone views Antony as the ideal player to boost his attack for the new season, as he proved himself in Spain's top flight last term.

The Brazilian scored five goals and registered two assists in 17 La Liga appearances in the second half of last season, while he also helped Manuel Pellegrini's side reach the final of the Conference League.

Man United need to sell Antony for £32.5m to avoid a loss under the Premier League's rules surrounding profit and sustainability, and the Red Devils are not believed to be willing to drop that price.

Atletico can offer Champions League football to Antony next term, and he spoke of his happiness in Spain on multiple occasions in the second half of last season, with the forward not looking to return to Manchester.

Is it definitely over for Antony at Man United?

Antony has been an expensive mistake for Man United, with the forward only managing 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

There had been suggestions that his form in the second half of last season could lead to him being given another chance at Man United, but it is clear that his time at the club is over.

Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have been signed to play in the number 10 positions, and with Antony's best work coming in a wide area, it is clear that he does not fit into Amorim's 3-4-3 system at Old Trafford.
