Bayer Leverkusen are allegedly interested in signing Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window.

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho during this summer's transfer window.

As it stands, Chelsea will be signing Sancho on a permanent basis at the end of the season for a fee between £20m and £25m, but it has been claimed that the Blues are considering paying £5m to cancel the arrangement.

The Englishman has made 38 appearances for Chelsea during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring four goals and registering 10 assists in the process, and he has been a regular for Blues head coach Enzo Maresca.

According to The Sun, Leverkusen are keeping a close eye on the situation, with the Bundesliga outfit keen to bring him back to German football during this summer's transfer window.

The report claims that, should Chelsea cancel their permanent option, Man United would be willing to sell Sancho for less than £20m, which is appealing for Leverkusen, who are losing their head coach Xabi Alonso this summer.

Leverkusen 'keen on permanent move for Sancho'

Sancho made 158 appearances for Borussia Dortmund during two spells, scoring 53 goals and registering 67 assists in the process, with the best football of his career being played in Germany.

The attacker has a record of 40 goals and 54 assists in 118 Bundesliga appearances, while he has contributed for Chelsea this season despite question marks surrounding his overall performance level.

There have also been suggestions of interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the Premier League club would find it difficult to pay his wages, which are believed to be in the region of £250,000 a week.

Could Sancho have a route back at Man United?

Sancho's issue at Man United was with Erik ten Hag rather than Ruben Amorim, so it is not impossible to imagine a situation which involves the forward being given another chance at Old Trafford under a new manager.

However, it is incredibly difficult to see a route back for him considering what has occurred.

Sancho has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for Man United, with the forward unable to show the form that made him one of the best attackers in world football during his first spell at Dortmund.

It would be best for both parties to cut ties this summer, as Man United are relying on the Sancho money to boost their squad, but it remains to be seen whether he makes the switch to Chelsea or leaves the Premier League behind.
