Manchester United are still considering appointing Spain boss Luis Enrique as their new manager, according to a report.

Spain boss Luis Enrique is reportedly still firmly in the frame to become Manchester United's new head coach.

The Red Devils are currently in the process of appointing a new manager for next season, with Ajax's Erik ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino viewed as the favourites for the role.

Enrique has also been linked with the position in Manchester, though, and according to the Daily Mail, the former Barcelona head coach should not be discounted.

The report claims that the 51-year-old 'has many admirers' among senior figures at Old Trafford, and he is firmly in the running to replace current interim boss Ralf Rangnick.

Enrique started his managerial career at Barcelona B before taking charge of Roma and Celta Vigo ahead of a return to Camp Nou in 2014.

The experienced head coach led the Catalan side to two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey crowns and the Champions League during his time at the helm, while he guided Spain to the semi-finals of Euro 2020 and runners-up spot in the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League.

Enrique is set to lead Spain into the 2022 World Cup, which would make it complicated for Man United to appoint him as their new manager in the coming months.
