Chelsea have reportedly devised a new plan to secure the services of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old is supposedly the main attacking target for the Club World Cup winners for the remainder of the summer transfer window.
Rogers enjoyed a marvellous campaign for the Villans in 2024-25, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists across 37 Premier League contests.
The forward also commenced his senior international career, earning caps under both interim England boss Lee Carsley and current manager Thomas Tuchel.
Since making the £19m switch from Championship outfit Middlesbrough in February 2024, Rogers has netted 17 times in 70 games for Villa.
Chelsea devise Rogers masterplan?
According to TBR Football, Chelsea have not given up hope of signing Aston Villa star Rogers before the end of the summer trading point.
The report claims that the Blues have devised a plan to secure the signature of the 22-year-old despite the Villans insisting that he is not for sale.
It is understood that Enzo Maresca's men are willing to offer a number of their first-team players to the Second City club in order to sweeten the deal.
Following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to Stamford Bridge, Nicolas Jackson's place in the West London plans is under threat.
Previously working with the Senegal international at Villarreal, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is supposedly keen to link up with the striker once again.
Who could Chelsea send to Villa?
Axel Disasi spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Villa Park, although it is believed that the Frenchman is unlikely to return this summer.
However, there are a number of defensive options who could make the switch to the Second City, including Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Trevoh Chalobah.
After losing back-to-back matches at the start of pre-season to Walsall and Hansa Rostock, Emery's side face Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend.
