Stoke City have reportedly made the decision to cash in on prospect Sol Sidibe.
Ever since making his senior debut during the 2023-24 EFL Cup, the 18-year-old has been regarded as one of the Championship's most hottest starlets.
That has led to the teenager being consistently linked with high-profile clubs in the Premier League and abroad, despite having to deal with injury issues.
In total, Sidibe has racked up 21 appearances and 844 minutes of first-team football for the Potters, 12 of those outings coming in the Championship.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Stoke will be cashing in on the youngster over the coming days.
Which European giant is signing Stoke midfielder Sidibe?
The report claims that PSV Eindhoven have won the race to sign Sidibe and are in advanced talks with their Stoke counterparts.
PSV - the Eredivisie champions - are said to have to 'really pushed to convince' Sidibe to make the switch to the Netherlands.
Lille and an unnamed Premier League club were allegedly in the race for his signature before the Dutch club entered advanced discussions.
Peter Bosz is attempting to keep PSV at the top of Dutch football, while they will hope to at least match their last-16 appearance in last season's Champions League during 2025-26.
Can Sidibe expect first-team football at PSV?
As it stands, Bosz is certainly not short of central-midfield options with Jerdy Schouten, Ismael Saibari, Joey Veerman and Guus Til the standout top four choices.
Tygo Land could also earn more action next season, the 19-year-old having been provided with first-team opportunities last season and a start in a 3-2 victory over Liverpool in a Champions League fixture.
Therefore, Sidibe may have to bide his time when it comes to regular action, and a mid-season loan may turn out to be the most likely option if his minutes are limited.
