Leicester City are reportedly preparing for an approach from West Ham United for first-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen this summer.

Leicester City are reportedly prepared for an approach from West Ham United for goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

The 25-year-old is attracting interest from a number of top-flight clubs this summer, with Club World Cup winners Chelsea also supposedly keen.

Hermansen was a shining light during a difficult Premier League campaign for Leicester in 2024-25, although he managed just the single clean sheet across 27 league matches.

The Dane enjoyed a much better time of things in the Championship under Enzo Maresca in 2023-24, when the Foxes cantered to the second-tier title.

Since making the switch from Danish outfit Brondby during the summer of 2023, Hermansen has featured in 73 matches for the East Midlands side.

Leicester preparing for Hermansen approach?

According to journalist Alex Crook, Leicester are preparing to enter transfer negotiations for one of their top players this summer.

The report claims that the Championship-competing Foxes are braced for an initial approach from West Ham for Hermansen.

With the 25-year-old representing one of Leicester's most sellable assets, it is understood that a switch away from the King Power Stadium is likely.

Preparing for the possible departure of the Dane, the Foxes are reportedly considering a swoop for 38-year-old shot-stopper Asmir Begovic.

New Leicester head coach Marti Cifuentes worked at Queens Park Rangers with the veteran goalkeeper, who is available as a free agent.

Leicester's goalkeeping ranks

If Hermansen moved to the London Stadium, Jakub Stolarczyk would be the only man remaining in the goalkeeper's union at Leicester.

As a result, the Foxes are in desperate need of reinforcements in between the sticks before the start of the 2025-26 Championship season.

With a host of top-flight and second-tier experience, Begovic would be a welcome addition, although it remains to be seen whether the Bosnian would assume a backup role behind Stolarczyk.
