Chelsea reportedly determine their stance over two key players amid speculation of interest from elsewhere ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea have reportedly determined their stance regarding two key players ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues are currently focused on trying to achieve a top-five finish in the Premier League table and winning the Conference League, a bid that was helped by a 4-1 victory over Djurgardens IF on Thursday night.

However, with Chelsea continuing to be linked with more big-money additions at a time when it is questionable whether they will comfortably comply with the relevant financial regulations, speculation has emerged with regards to potential sales.

If it becomes apparent that there is any sort of financial shortfall regarding Profit and Sustainability Rules, cashing in on a prized asset would become a realistic possibility.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez both fall into that bracket given that they cost a combined total close to £225m.

Nevertheless, according to Sky Sports News, there is no interest in cashing in on either of the South American midfielders when the market reopens in June.

The pair are currently viewed as two of the first names on Enzo Maresca's teamsheet, particularly when Romeo Lavia has struggled to remain fit.

Fernandez has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid in recent months, while Caicedo has admirers in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr viewing him as 'a dream signing' for the engine room.

Instead, both players will remain at Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window and other methods will be taken to generate revenue should Chelsea need to do so.

Caicedo and Fernandez are on contracts until 2032 and 2031 respectively, the lengths of those deals emphasising their importance to the project.

What are Caicedo's, Fernandez's numbers this campaign?

While Caicedo does not bring much of a goal output, the Ecuador international has started all 34 of Chelsea's Premier League fixtures during 2024-25.

He also provides an option at right-back, even though he is considered by many to be the best defensive-midfielder in the world at the present time.

In sharp contrast to Caicedo's one goal and two assists in the top flight, Fernandez has five strikes and seven assists from 28 starts and four substitute outings to his name.

Fernandez has played a more active role in the Conference League, accumulating an incredible one goal and five assists from just 251 minutes of action.
