Barcelona reportedly reject Ronald Koeman's request for a new striker and central midfielder before the transfer window shuts.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has had requests for two more signings turned down by the Blaugrana board, according to a report.

With their dire financial situation well-documented, Barca have swooped for free agents Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero this summer, but they are under pressure to offload some of their big earners in order to register their new arrivals.

Aguero has since been ruled out for 10 weeks with a calf problem, though, while six-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has left and Georginio Wijnaldum instead opted for a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Sport, Aguero's injury and failure to secure Wijnaldum's signature has led Koeman to request a new central midfielder and striker in the next two weeks, but the Barca board do not intend to welcome any more new faces to the club.

The report claims that Barca will only move for a new striker if Tottenham Hotspur-linked Martin Braithwaite can be offloaded for a substantial fee, and the club will consider signings in the January transfer window should their financial situation improve.

As well as Braithwaite, the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, Samuel Umtiti and Neto represent high earners who are thought to be on Barcelona's transfer list.
