Arsenal's most expensive signings ever after Noni Madueke's £48m Chelsea transfer

Sports Mole looks at the most expensive signings in Arsenal's glittering history.

The latest name to swap London blue for London red, Noni Madueke followed in a long line of Chelsea and Arsenal players past and present when his transfer to Mikel Arteta's side was confirmed on Friday, July 18.

The former PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham Hotspur youngster - who has certainly burned even more Lilywhites bridges now - was identified by Arteta and Andrea Berta as a signing who could soar in North London, even if sections of the Arsenal fanbase did not exactly take kindly to his arrival.

Nevertheless, Madueke cut an extremely jovial figure during his Arsenal unveiling, as the 23-year-old put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, where he will be challenging the established starters on both flanks.

Madueke can provide cover and competition for Bukayo Saka on the right-hand side of the attack, but the versatile England international may also have his eyes on the left-wing spot, where Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are currently vying for minutes.

Joining for an initial £48m potentially rising to £52m with add-ons, Madueke has already earned a place on the top 10 of Arsenal's record transfers, knocking Mesut Ozil out of the list in the process.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the most expensive signings in Arsenal's glittering history.
