Rotherham United win late on against Stevenage

Rotherham United beat Stevenage late on courtesy of Lee Frecklington's goal.

Lee Frecklington's late goal was enough for Rotherham United to see off a battling Stevenage at the New York Stadium in League One.

The visitors had the first real chance of the contest. Lucas Akins played a pass into the box for Francois Zoko to head home, but the striker failed to beat Adam Collin from six yards out.

Ben Pringle's cross for Alex Revell almost lead to the breakthrough, only for Chris Day to flick the ball over the bar to keep to score level.

Moments later, the hosts took the lead through Wes Thomas, who found the back of the net following two goal-line clearances.

However, Peter Hartley almost levelled instantly, with Collin having to pull off a brilliant save to ensure that the Millers went in ahead at the break.

Minutes after the restart, Zoko almost found the net after dribbling with the ball past a couple of opposition players, but he missed the target with his final effort.

Thomas came close to doubling his tally for the afternoon following Pringle's cross, but the striker failed to hit the target with his header.

With minutes remaining, Zoko pounced at the back post to fire beyond Collin and level the contest, but there was still enough time left for Frecklington to break Boro hearts as he tapped home to give Rotherham a late winner.
